Confirm your collection point before you travel
Leeds Bradford Airport distinguishes between its official taxi partner's terminal-front service and other private-hire operators. Its official transport guidance directs other private-hire services to the Pick Up & Drop Off car park or the One Hour Free Zone.
Check the meeting instructions in your booking confirmation. If they are unclear, contact the team before travelling. Do not choose a different car park after landing without agreeing it with your driver: similar descriptions can otherwise leave you waiting in different places.
The One Hour Free Zone is around a 3–4 minute walk from the terminal and the pedestrian route through the Mid Stay car park includes an incline, according to the airport's facilities guidance. The airport also states that re-entering the One Hour Free Zone within one hour of leaving incurs a minimum £68 charge, so your driver should avoid unnecessary recirculation. Consider the walking route when discussing your collection point, particularly if walking is difficult or you have several bags.
Your booking details checklist
Give the team enough information to identify the correct arrival and arrange the journey you actually need:
- The arriving flight number and scheduled arrival date.
- Your destination's full address and postcode.
- A mobile number you can use when you land.
- The total number of passengers, including children.
- The number and size of suitcases, cabin bags and unusual items.
- Any mobility equipment or help needed to reach and enter the vehicle.
For an overnight flight, check that the booking uses the date you arrive in the UK. Keep the confirmation accessible and tell the team if your flight details change. If several passengers need different drop-off addresses, agree the stops when requesting the quote.
Match the vehicle to your passengers and luggage
A passenger count alone does not describe the space your group needs. Mention pushchairs, golf bags, folding wheelchairs and other bulky items when arranging your transfer. Give dimensions if an item is unusually large, and have the team confirm that the proposed vehicle is suitable.
If you use a wheelchair or scooter, explain whether you need to remain seated in it during the road journey or can transfer to a vehicle seat. Share the equipment's size and weight, and whether it folds. Have the arrangements checked before completing your booking.
Arrange airport assistance separately
Booking your road transfer does not arrange assistance through the airport. The Civil Aviation Authority recommends requesting assistance through your airline, travel agent or tour operator when booking, or at least 48 hours before departure where possible. Keep written confirmation.
For an electric wheelchair or scooter, check your airline's requirements and provide its make, model, dimensions, weight and battery details. The CAA's mobility equipment guidance also recommends explaining how equipment folds or dismantles.
After landing
Follow the contact and meeting instructions in your confirmation. If baggage collection or airport assistance changes when you will be ready, update the team. Ask before leaving the terminal if you are unsure where to go.
Leeds Bradford provides free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal, which may help you contact your driver. Keep your booking reference and the team's contact details available.
